What Makes Some People Predatory
There are many reasons why someone becomes predatory. The main causes are genetics, trauma, and drug addiction. Some people suffer from all three. No matter what the cause, if you are the target of abuse, you need to get out of the line of fire and protect yourself and those you love from having their trust mistreated.
What Makes Some People Predatory?
Predatory humans have three distinguishing traits that make them dangerous.
They lack empathy, they lack compassion, and they lack conscience. What exactly does this mean?
1.
People lacking empathy do not have the ability to understand and share the feelings of others. Even if their actions and words are causing pain and suffering in the people they target, human predators will not change their behavior. In fact, these people experience personal satisfaction from harming others.
2.
Compassion is the concern for the suffering of others, and often includes action that attempts to relieve that suffering. Predatory humans rarely show compassion unless they are attempting to hide their true agenda.
3.
Conscience is the ability of humans to discern right and wrong, to live by moral codes and customs of society, to follow and respect the laws that govern society, or all three. This capacity does not exist (or is fully shut down) in predatory humans. And they feel no regret or remorse for their actions.
